Joan Eamer, BSc, MSc, RPBio, is a Principal Consultant, Ecology and Climate Change with SLR Consulting (Canada) Ltd.  Joan was an ecologist and manager with Environment Canada in northern Canada (based in Whitehorse) for over 20 years in the fields of environmental assessment, mine permitting and compliance, biodiversity and wildlife management. 

Throughout her career, Joan has worked collaboratively with aboriginal people and organizations, including initiating and advising on community-based and traditional-knowledge-based research and monitoring programs in Canada and internationally.  Joan was a lead author of the Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity in the Arctic (TEEB) scoping study completed in 2015.
