This past spring and summer (2011), we invited potential and current users to complete a survey on our Yukon Planning Atlas. The results of the survey will help guide upcoming improvements to the Atlas, as well as our long-term data management strategy.
The results of the survey, and some discussion on them, are found here. Here are some key findings:
- Other public and private sector on-line GISs are more popular amoung our target users - especially Google Earth
- Interacting with spatial data using on-line GISs is perferable to other options
- The Atlas is mostly used to explore data, and not for analysis
- The Atlas does a good job with metadata and layer describptions, but its speed, layer selection and customization could be improved.
Congratulations to our draw-prize winners Jocylyn McDowell and Jim Hawkings!
